Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a junior or mid level Energetics MFG engineer (level 2 or 3) also known as a Tool Engineer to support our Clearfield Facility in Utah.Candidate will be responsible for the concept, design, engineering, fabrication drawings, inspection requirements, procurement requirements, verification requirements, and fabrication support for tooling and equipment for Aerospace applications.Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Interface with review team to assure customer satisfaction with designManage projects and coordinate all procurements and fabrication to meet the program cost and schedule requirementsInspect fabricated support hardware to assure compliance to designWork alongside the manufacturing team to ensure overall program quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achievedWork with internal customers to define needed support equipment for new and existing programsDevelop tooling concepts, creating/reviewing and improving manufacturing processes to meet customer requirementsWork closely with tool designers to create final drawingsPerform stress analysis to assure mechanically sound per NG requirementsUnderstand/monitor cost and scheduleReview engineering drawings and designs for manufacturabilityTravel to suppliers to support them as needed during fabricationInspect tool configuration for drawing compliance, including fit, form and functionSupport continuous improvement Support operations and process engineering in the use of all toolingBasic Requirements:Bachelor in a STEM discipline with a minimum 5 years technical experience in engineering, design, and fabrication of special tooling and related equipment.May be hired one level lower (level 2) with B.S. and 2 years minimum equivalent technical work experienceMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.Demonstrated ability to evaluate vendor and equipment capability and ability to perform required tasks to include production of tooling as well as unique aerospace part production.Experience with hand calculation analysis and Finite Element analysis practicesCAD modeling experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate and present to large audience of upper management of 20 or moreExperience with concept of design for manufacturingExperience with various inspection methods and understanding design for inspectionAbility to travel to suppliers to inspect equipment prior to shipment (15-20% travel)Preferred Requirements:Tooling design and analysis experienceHands on fabrication and manufacturing experienceNX modeling experienceAbaqus Finite Element Analysis FEA experienceGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Tolerance stack calculationsStrong technical writing skillsTechnical Skills:Desire, i.e. passion, to build and manufacture support hardwareExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills in managing time, projects and resourcesAbility to handle multiple projects at once and manage schedules and budgetsLeadership abilityTechnical attention to detail.Drive and motivation to be proactive in problem solving and continuous improvementPrimary Level Salary Range: $88,000.00 - $109,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $109,000.00 - $135,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
