Chemical Business Development Executive

Business Development ExecutiveOur client, a global chemical distribution company, is in need of a Business Development Executive for their North America division. This position requires someone skilled in purchasing, selling, negotiating, building relationships, and creating profitable ventures in the chemical markets. The ideal candidate will oversee relationships with customers and suppliers, identify new opportunities, and aid in expanding the company's reach across North America.Responsibilities entail boosting sales and profitability in an assigned territory in North America. Key duties include:Trading chemicals from the company’s product lineupCultivating new business relationships with customers, distributors, and suppliersExpanding existing accounts and identifying new profitable opportunitiesEstablishing and nurturing strong customer and supplier connectionsCreating pricing plans, proposals, presentations, market updates, and correspondencesMonitoring market trends, competitor activity, pricing fluctuations, and regional needsCollaborating with sourcing, supply, sales coordination, marketing, and leadership teamsManaging sales volume, margin rates, pipeline activity, and account performanceAssisting in supplier/product vetting processes in line with company guidelinesResolving customer concerns promptly and professionallyRepresenting the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking gatheringsEnsuring all business conduct complies with relevant trade laws, regulations, and company policiesThe ideal candidate will possess:A minimum of 5-8 years of successful experience in chemical sales, commodity trading, distribution, or a related commercial sector5-8+ years of industry experience in chemicalsStrong preference for experience in selling to or working with chemical distributorsComprehensive understanding of chemicals, market trends, pricing strategies, supply chains, and downstream usesA proven track record in generating new business and expanding profitable accountsExceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation abilitiesComfort in dealing with both customers and suppliersSharp analytical skills and adeptness in conveying market data clearlyProficiency in Microsoft Office and standard business applicationsA Bachelor’s degree is required; ideally in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or MBA
