Job Overview Westin Bonaventure – Accounting Supervisor-Field located at 404 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA, 90071, US. Salary: $30.00 - $32.00/hour. This position serves as a Food & Beverage Cost Controller supporting the hotel’s accounting functions. Responsibilities include managing food cost, tracking inventory, minimizing waste, and ensuring accurate accounting records. Job Responsibilities Track daily food & beverage cost against budget. Conduct inventory audits. Update pricing to reflect best pricing. Monitor and track waste. Prepare accruals for month‑end closing. Supervise associate work in accounting functions (recording transactions, invoices, or payments to the general ledger or accounts payable/receivable systems). Research and resolve discrepancies. Assist hotel leadership with accounting close processes and financial statement preparation. Adhere to the policies outlined in the Aimbridge Employee Handbook. Establish and maintain relationships with hotel leadership and manage necessary processes to ensure accurate financial reporting. Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal control systems. Coordinate responses to internal and external audit groups. Ensure implementation of document management and retention policies. Oversee daily and period‑closing activities, providing guidance to Staff Accountants. Review and approve bank and balance sheet account reconciliations. Oversee resolution of accounting discrepancies and issues. Review and approve property financial reports and analysis. Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial statements through diligent monthly closing steps. Participate in meetings and committees as requested by leadership. Update job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities, professional publications, and organizations. Develop and maintain key performance indicators to aid in financial statement analysis. Oversee staff development, ensuring training checklists are fully utilized and updated. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Certified Public Accountant preferred. Minimum of 1 year in public accounting and/or accounting management, preferably in hospitality or real estate. Extensive knowledge of all hotel accounting and finance areas. Strong leadership, coordination, and coaching skills. Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles. Strong computer skills. Strong communication and interviewing skills.
