We take that very seriously – because we care!We are seeking a Medical Director (Psychiatrist) who wants to remain hands-on with patient care while also helping guide clinical excellence within an inpatient behavioral health setting.About the Role:This opportunity is based at the Tulsa Center for Behavioral Health, where you will care for adults experiencing acute mental health crises in a structured and supportive inpatient environment.You’ll have the opportunity to directly impact patient outcomes while also influencing how care is delivered across the facility.About the Facility:The Tulsa Center for Behavioral Health is a Joint Commission-accredited psychiatric hospital providing evidence-based, patient-centered care to adults experiencing mental health crises, with or without co-occurring substance use disorders.In response to the increasing need for mental health services in our community, TCBH is being replaced by a new facility, the Oklahoma Psychiatric Care Center (OPCC). Situated in the OSU Academic Medical District in downtown Tulsa, this modern psychiatric hospital will feature 106 inpatient beds, an expanded residency program, and an enhanced range of behavioral health services. Construction of the OPCC is currently in progress.Our current location: Tulsa, OklahomaCapacity: 56 bedsMission: The Tulsa Center for Behavioral Health creates a supportive, safe, and welcoming environment in which an array of integrative therapeutic interventions promotes an improved quality of life for patients and the community.What You’ll Do (Clinical + Leadership Impact)In this role, you’ll remain deeply engaged in patient care while guiding clinical excellence across the facility.Clinical ResponsibilitiesProvide hands-on psychiatric care, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management for individuals in state custodyConduct comprehensive intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plansManage and monitor psychotropic medications, including regular re-evaluationsOrder and interpret laboratory testing to support diagnosis and treatment decisionsMaintain direct communication with patients, ensuring they are informed and engaged in their careGuide and support treatment planning and program developmentEvaluate existing programs and recommend improvements to enhance patient outcomesSupervise and mentor clinical staffProvide clinical directions to multidisciplinary teamsAssist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and standards of careSupport staff through education, consultation, and in-service trainingParticipate in on-call coverage related to psychiatric care and medication managementWhat You BringRequired Qualifications and Special Requirements:Licensed to practice medicine in the State of OklahomaMinimum of three (3) years of experience as a practicing psychiatristApplicants must be able to pass an OSBI background checkBenefits That Support YouODMHSAS is proud to provide a robust benefits package designed to support our employees and their dependents.
