Pharmacy Technician 2 Per Diem

The purpose of this position is to provide all aspects of technical support services under the oversight of an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist, including the monthly nursing and pharmacy area inspections. Must be able to work and travel to ALL Outpatient Pharmacies in Sacramento, Roseville and Davis. #CA-DS Minimum Qualifications California Licensed Pharmacy Technician Minimum education satisfied through attainment of the required licensure/certification Two (2) years of outpatient pharmacy experience, working as a Pharmacy Technician Recent experience working in an Outpatient Pharmacy setting (within the last 2 years) Knowledge of third-party insurances, Medicare Plan-B, or manual claims Knowledge of current Medi-Cal Formulary and other third-party billing systems Knowledge of current California Pharmacy Law Working knowledge of pharmacy terminology, generic/brand name drugs and abbreviations Preferred Qualifications Experience within a UCDMC Outpatient Pharmacy Knowledge of and capability in Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding Ability to operate Pharmacy Information System and other computer programs Working knowledge of UCDMC outpatient pharmacy Key Responsibilities 75% - DRUG DISTRIBUTION 25% - Maintain Pharmacy/Inventory Control Department Overview UC Davis Health is a nationally recognized leader in the provision of high-quality, patient-centered care, based in the Greater Sacramento area of Northern California. We also have the largest pharmacy residency program in the country with 46 total residents in 13 different programs. The Department of Pharmacy offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps, and teaching) throughout the health system complex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The pharmacy services encompass inpatient pharmacy services as well as an expansive footprint in the ambulatory care space where we have clinical pharmacists embedded within our clinics and specialty care locations. Our operational teams support the health system enterprise with three inpatient pharmacies, five outpatient pharmacies, two infusion pharmacies, a home infusion service line, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores, and distribution.
