Assistant Director of Finance

Omni Severin Hotel is a four‑diamond luxury hotel located in downtown Indianapolis, offering modern amenities and superior service. Role Overview The Assistant Director of Finance supervises all on‑site accounting activities, including account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable, billing, credit and collection, and ensures proper operations systems, procedures, and control features. Responsibilities Coordinate and oversee on‑site accounting functions with the Director of Finance. Oversee the Procurement Manager and ensure compliance with purchasing procedures. Ensure smooth accounting processes, especially related to payroll and cash handling. Maintain daily balance of timecards to the Daily Labor Report. Provide complete training for hourly staff on job duties. Maintain daily filing of documents needed for research requests from guest and in‑house users. Respond to all external/internal guest requests in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures. Assist in audit requests. Collaborate with departments to devise solutions to systems & controls problems. Complete assigned balance‑sheet account reconciliations. Ensure a timely month‑end close. Assist in producing accurate financial statements with department heads. Manage daily cash functions: audit banks, reconcile accounts, and follow up on over/short violations. Display and communicate the Omni Culture throughout the department and hotel. Qualifications 4‑5 years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality. Intermediate Excel skills. Flexibility to work weekends due to month‑end closing demands. Professional communication skills with guests and associates. College degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
