Our team is committed to creating confident, healthy smiles while providing a positive experience for every patient.Position OverviewThe Orthodontic Dental Assistant plays a key role in supporting the orthodontist and clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming and comfortable experience for patients of all ages.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist the orthodontist during clinical proceduresPrepare and sterilize instruments and treatment roomsTake dental impressions, digital scans, and photographsPlace and remove orthodontic appliances under doctor supervision (brackets, wires, bands, etc., per state regulations)Adjust archwires and change elastics as directedTake orthodontic X-rays in compliance with state guidelinesEducate patients on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment expectationsMaintain accurate patient records and clinical notesEnsure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocolsSupport efficient patient flow and operatory turnoverAssist with inventory management and stocking suppliesQualificationsPrior dental assisting experience required (orthodontic experience preferred)Dental Assistant certification as required by stateOrthodontic assisting experience or certification (if applicable)X-ray certification (as required by state)CPR/BLS certification preferredExperience with dental software (Dentrix, Ortho2, Open Dental, etc.) preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentWhat We're Looking ForDetail-oriented and highly organizedPositive, friendly, and professional demeanorStrong patient communication skillsAbility to multitask and stay efficient in a busy clinical settingTeam player with a proactive attitude$32 - $34 an hour
