Floor Manager

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Floor Manager at Beatbox is the heartbeat of every shift. You are the person guests rely on for a seamless experience and the person the team looks to for direction, support, and standards. You own the floor from the moment doors open to when you lock them. This is not a supervisory title — it is an active, hands-on leadership role. Our ideal candidate is kind, good with technology and a problem solver. This is not a role for the computer averse or technologically challenged!

You will be expected to know every role on the floor, enforce our service standards, protect our guests, support our staff, and ensure the space always looks and feels the way it was designed. The Floor Manager position is the pipeline to General Manager at Beatbox, and we take it seriously.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Floor & Guest Experience

• Maintain a visible presence on the floor throughout service — you are not stationed at a desk
• Greeting guests; ensure every party is welcomed and escorted to their room or table
• Monitor karaoke room service: rooms should be checked regularly, water and supplies restocked proactively
• Oversee the full 8-step service flow: greeting, water service, order-taking, beverage delivery, food setup, touchback, silent maintenance, and check presentation
• Ensure the lounge, hallway, and all common areas are clean, appropriately lit, and presentable at all times
• Handle all guest escalations on the floor: comp requests, complaints, service recovery all with confidence and professionalism

Team Leadership & Operations

• Lead pre-shift briefings every shift; cover reservations, menu specials, and service expectations
• Direct servers, bussers, and bartenders throughout the shift; assign sections and side work clearly
• Monitor staff performance in real time: address service gaps, timing issues, or behavior on the spot
• Support the bar team by monitoring ticket times and flagging high-volume periods
• Ensuring room turnovers are completed correctly

STANDARDS WE HOLD FLOOR MANAGERS TO

• You know the menu fully — food, beverages, packages, and current specials
• You know the karaoke system well enough to troubleshoot issues in any room
• You hold the team to our service standards — not just yourself
• You communicate proactively: low stock, equipment issues, guest concerns, staff issues — the GM should never hear about a problem after the fact
• You send the EOD report every closing shift, every time
• You present yourself in accordance with our dress code
• You treat the space as if you own it

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2 years of restaurant, bar, or hospitality experience; at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory role
• Strong working knowledge of bar operations, food service, and FOH standards
• Experience with POS systems (Toast preferred) and reservation platforms (SevenRooms preferred)
• Food Handler Certification required (or ability to obtain); TIPS/alcohol certification a plus
• Exceptional communication skills — with guests, with staff, and with ownership
• Ability to stay calm, decisive, and solutions-focused under pressure
• A knowledge of Windows PC’s and any background experience in audio production is a plus and will be heavily considered!
• Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
• A genuine love for hospitality, music, and creating memorable guest experiences
