GROUNDS PATROL OFFICER (CLASS CODE 7185)

Responsibilities Patrolling, securing and protecting an assigned public park and other public areas or buildings; and related work as required. Shift work and rotating assignments are required for this position. Qualifications Minimum age: 20 years. High school graduation or GED equivalent. Licensed to drive with a good driving record. Good physical and psychological condition to perform the essential job functions. Eligible to secure a special officer's commission. Disqualifying Conditions Felony or numerous misdemeanor convictions. Unstable or unsatisfactory work history. History of illegal drug usage. Other Requirements One year probationary period. Written test (100% weight). If hired, a qualifying medical and psychological/psychiatric evaluation. Background investigation will be conducted, including urinalysis to detect illegal narcotic substances, and a check of arrest and conviction records.
