The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repair services across building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient facility operations. This role supports Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) practices and utilizes the Government's Enterprise Resource Planning System (Maximo) to execute and document all maintenance activities in alignment with contract requirements, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Acceptable Quality Levels (AQLs). Job Duties and Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance (CM) on building systems and equipment to ensure reliable and efficient facility operations. Execute work orders in Maximo, ensuring accurate documentation, timely completion, and compliance with contract requirements. Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform repairs to restore system functionality and minimize operational disruption. Conduct routine inspections of facility systems and identify deficiencies or potential failures for corrective action. Support minor facility repairs, including carpentry, drywall, and painting, to maintain the overall condition of the built environment. Support critical equipment uptime requirements to ensure continuity of mission operations and adherence to performance standards. Follow Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles to optimize asset performance and extend equipment lifecycle. Adhere to all safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and Department of State policies to ensure a safe working environment. Coordinate with Work Control to prioritize, schedule, and execute maintenance activities efficiently. Support emergency response efforts, including after-hours or on-call support, as required to address system failures. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Assist with inventory tracking and materials management to support maintenance operations and cost control. Required Qualifications and Experience Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or related trades. EPA 608 Certification. Demonstrate experience working with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems. Able to read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and specifications. Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), with Maximo preferred. Possess or be able to obtain and maintain the required security clearance. Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Preferred Qualifications and Skills Trade certification (HVAC, electrical, plumbing). Experience supporting federal or DoS facilities. Familiarity with RCM practices. Experience in secure environments. OSHA 10 or 30 certification. Strong communication skills. Multi‑skilled technician capability.
