Computer Support SpecialistEmployment Type: ContractWork Hours: 37.5 hrs./week Work site: 100% OnsiteLocation: One State Street Plaza, NY, NY 10004Job Duration: 2 Years Closing: 10/03/2025Minimum Candidate QualificationsTwo years of experience in Information Technology and Customer ServiceProof of eligibility to work in NYS.A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information systems, management systems, information technology, or cybersecurity.Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To, The Following:Providing technical assistance to users via phone, email, chat, or in-person.Actively monitoring and working on tickets submitted in the JIRA ticketing system.Installing, setting up, and configuring new hardware, software, and peripherals.Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues for end-users.Documenting technical problems, resolutions, and user guides for future reference.Other duties as assigned.In Addition, The Candidate Must Possess The Following Abilities:Technical Expertise: Knowledge of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networks.Problem-Solving: Good analytical and logical reasoning skills to identify root causes of problems.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non technical users.Customer Service: Patience, empathy, and a focus on customer satisfaction.Organizational Skills: Ability to manage tasks, prioritize requests, and maintain detailed records.Adaptability: Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentMiscellaneous Information:Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM; 37.5 hours per week.Interviews will be conducted in-person or online based on the availability.Training will be provided.Telecommuting may be allowed at the discretion of the hiring manager.Client does not provide parking, but the office is accessible by bus.The Nexus Staff Difference:Our outstanding healthcare coverage, including dental and vision, begins in just 30 days after you join us.We offer weekly payments via ACH (Automated Clearing House).Serving as Prime Vendors to New York State and New York City for over 10 years.
