Location: Schaumburg, Illinois

Assignment Type: 3-month contract with the possibility of extensions

Compensation: $27.00 - $29.00 / Hourly depending on relevant experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to support the day-to-day accounts receivable operations for a growing organization. This role will be responsible for managing cash applications, account reconciliations, collections, deductions research, and ensuring timely and accurate processing of customer payments.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and apply customer payments accurately and timely.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding customer balances.
• Research and resolve payment issues, short pays, deductions, and unapplied cash.
• Collaborate with customers and internal departments to resolve billing and payment disputes.
• Maintain accurate customer account records and documentation.
• Prepare AR reports and assist with month-end close activities.
• Support cash forecasting by providing updates on collection activity.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of Accounts Receivable, Cash Application, Collections, or Credit experience.
• Strong understanding of AR processes, account reconciliations, and collections.
• Experience researching and resolving deductions, chargebacks, and payment discrepancies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
