MUST HAVE STRONG INFUSION & IV SKILLS!

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide safe, high-quality patient care within the scope of practice established by California state statutes, administrative regulations, and bylaws.

The Nurse Practitioner will work closely with the Infusion Suite Registered Nurse to conduct patient assessments, supervise and administer infusion treatments, manage infusion reactions, provide patient education, and respond to clinical questions and concerns.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive, and compassionate clinical care.
• Conduct patient health assessments and examinations.
• Supervise and administer intravenous infusion therapies.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to infusion-related reactions.
• Educate patients regarding their disease states, medications, treatment plans, and potential side effects.
• Respond to patient questions and clinical concerns.
• Assume a leadership role in establishing and monitoring standards of practice.
• Improve patient care by sharing clinical knowledge, leading teams, and supporting the development of programs and processes.
• Maintain an understanding of applicable internal and external rules, regulations, and legislation related to licensure, certification, documentation, and billing compliance.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of all credentialed procedures performed.
• Demonstrate competency and clinical expertise when performing credentialed procedures and specialty skills.
• Perform safe and effective peripheral intravenous line placement.
• Perform safe and effective port access.
• Obtain, assess, and interpret vital signs accurately.
• Complete thorough and timely documentation within the electronic medical record.

Education, Licensure, and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current and unrestricted Virginia Nurse Practitioner license.
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification through a nationally recognized certifying organization.
• Current Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
• Active federal DEA registration.
• Compliance with all mandatory education and employee health surveillance requirements.
• Demonstrated competency in the technical, interpersonal, and critical-thinking skills necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Experience administering infusion therapies and managing infusion reactions is strongly preferred.
• Must be credentialed, or eligible to become credentialed, with major insurance payers.
