Budget Specialist

Job PostingDuties include preparing bid specifications and proposals; assisting with budget preparation and administration; preparing trending and cost analyses of expenditures; processing and reconciling payments, disbursements and invoices; handling the department's procurement and contract management activities; answering inquiries from staff, vendors and other city departments; and maintaining all related budget files and databases. Duties also include providing light administrative assistance to the Chief Technology Officer, preparing personnel paperwork, reports, presentations, correspondence and Council agenda items; processing payroll and open records requests; answering the telephone; and performing other general clerical tasks. Duties will require ability to adhere to strict deadlines working in a fast-paced, multi-task environment. An Associate degree or equivalent and two years of directly related experience required. Must have advanced computer proficiency, including knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications (preferably MS Excel) and strong financial analytical skills.
