ERCO Worldwide has operated for over 100 years, focused largely on the production and supply of in-organic products along with technology for the production of chlorine dioxide. Today, ERCO's major business areas include sodium chlorate, chlor-alkali products, sodium chlorite, and chlorine dioxide technology. The ERCO business serves a number of key customer segments including pulp and paper, food, energy, agriculture, water treatment, airport de-icing, fertilizers and specialty chemicals.

ERCO Worldwide is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team! The Maintenance Technician provides safe day to day maintenance and repairs of complex mechanical systems, pipefitting, and preventative maintenance support across the entire plant site for a variety of equipment. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, pumps, centrifuges, tanks, piping, compressors, fans, heat exchangers, structural elements, pressure relief devices, etc. Repairs, rebuilds, installation and modification may be required on such equipment on any given day.

The Role:

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance rounds (inspections, vibration measurements, infra-red thermography, etc.)
• Troubleshoots and isolates highly complex mechanical problems; implements corrective actions, as appropriate.
• Conduct rebuilds of rotating assemblies
• Removal of failed/failing equipment and re-installation of new/rebuilt units, piping repairs
• Fabricate, weld, and lathe as needed
• Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications which may include welding, cementing, soldering, and threading.
• Ordering and Controlling of Repair Materials
• Manage relevant Work Orders in the CMMS in support of PM compliance (timely completion / closure, etc.)
• Update maintenance files, drawings, and documentation.

The Person:

Journeyperson Candidates (Or Candidate with relative experience):

• A valid journeyman card, indicating successful completion of an accredited apprenticeship program
• Journeyman Millwright/Associate or Pipefitter/Associate level Industrial Mechanic
• 3-5 years experience is preferred.
• Non-Journeyman maintenance mechanic with 10+ years experience preferred.

Apprentice Candidates:

• Registered apprentice in the Industrial Mechanic (Millwright or Pipefitter) trade or a related maintenance trade.
• High School Diploma required.
• Completion of, or enrollment in a vocational, technical or trade program is considered an asset.
• Must maintain satisfactory attendance and progress within the applicable apprenticeship and technical training program.

All Candidates:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Superior troubleshooting skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• A background in heavy industry or the chemical process industry is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with ANSI/ASME and/or boiler codes is an asset.
• Demonstrates ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), equipment assembly drawings, technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to work in a self-directed work group
• Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
