Territory ManagerThe base compensation for this role is $80,000 per year. In addition to base compensation, this role offers an uncapped target performance-based bonus with overall expected compensation to be between $115,000 and $150,000.This is a business development and relationship-management position. Candidates with outside sales, healthcare sales, physician relations, account management, or behavioral health business development experience are strongly encouraged to apply.At Akua Behavioral Health, we help individuals and families access life-changing treatment for substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and co-occurring disorders.Territory Manager's are responsible for developing professional referral relationships that connect people to the care they need. This is a field-based business development role focused on growing referral partnerships, expanding market presence, and driving admissions growth throughout the Sacramento region.In addition to developing referral relationships, this role will help strengthen Akua's alumni network and recovery community presence throughout the Sacramento area.We are seeking motivated, relationship-driven professionals who enjoy networking, building strategic partnerships, supporting recovery communities, and producing measurable results.As a Territory Manager, you will own and develop a designated Sacramento territory.You will spend the majority of your time in the field meeting with referral partners, developing new business relationships, strengthening existing partnerships, increasing awareness of Akua's programs and services, and supporting alumni and recovery-focused initiatives throughout the community.This is not an office-based position.Success in this role requires strong communication skills, professionalism, relationship-building ability, organization, accountability, and a proven ability to achieve goals.Key responsibilities include:Grow and manage referral relationships throughout the Sacramento regionDevelop new referral partnerships with hospitals, treatment providers, clinicians, EAPs, colleges, universities, and healthcare organizationsEducate referral partners on Akua's programs and servicesCreate and execute territory growth strategiesAttend networking events, conferences, and community meetingsCollaborate with Admissions and Clinical teams to support client placementMaintain accurate CRM activity and referral documentationMeet and exceed outreach activity and performance goalsRepresent Akua professionally within the communitySupport alumni meetings and eventsBuild and maintain relationships with Akua alumniEncourage alumni participation and engagementStrengthen Akua's presence within the recovery communitySupport recovery-focused community events and initiativesQualifications required include:Must currently live within the Sacramento area and be able to travel throughout the assigned territory on a daily basisStrong connection to the recovery community and understanding of the recovery processExcellent communication and presentation skillsProven ability to build and maintain professional relationshipsStrong organizational and time-management skillsValid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to work independently while managing a territorySelf-motivated, goal-oriented, and accountable for resultsDemonstrated success in a client-facing, relationship-building, business development, sales, outreach, community engagement, or account management roleThis position is not a fit for candidates seeking counseling, case management, peer support, alumni services, or primarily administrative work.If you're looking for a career that combines relationship-building, business development, community impact, recovery advocacy, and professional growth, we'd love to hear from you.Apply today and help us expand access to life-changing care throughout the Sacramento region.
