Description

American Traveler is hiring an EP Lab Technologist for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience in cardiac cath and electrophysiology procedures.

Details

Acute care hospital setting within a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated facility

Rotates through Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, Interventional Radiology, and Neurointervention

Cases include STEMI, IABP, Impella, Tandem Heart, Structural Heart (PFO, TAVR, Mitral Clip), CRM device implants, lines, drains, embolizations, fistulas, visceral angio/intervention, and stroke thrombectomy

4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, including some Saturdays as part of the regular schedule

On-call required from 6-8pm on days already worked, with rare call-backs after leaving for the day

May float within scope to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed

Uses Epic for charting

Preferred equipment/systems include Philips X-Ray, McKesson for Cath Lab, and MacLab/Cardio Lab for EP

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in Cath Lab and Electrophysiology procedures

BLS and ACLS certification required

Active state license required if applicable

Epic charting experience required

Experience with EKG lead placement, sterile field maintenance, hemodynamic monitoring, and arrhythmia recognition required

Experience with vascular studies, EP studies (cardiac ablation, mapping, pacemaker insertion), and cath lab procedures (diagnostic catheterization, stent placement) preferred

Skills in CTO, peripherals, venous access, and rhythm interpretation preferred

2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty within the last 3 years required for consideration

Copy of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

Responsibilities include procedural setup, monitoring, sterile field maintenance, and assisting in cardiac, EP, radiology, and neurointervention procedures

First-time travelers accepted

Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)

Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted

Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for a minimum of 3 months before returning as a traveler

Travelers may work a maximum of 1 year in this assignment before requiring a 6-month break to return

Facility only accepts Hepatitis B vaccination records, not titers or declinations

RTO must be submitted at the time of application and is approved individually upon offer
