Regional Manager – Florida Team Self-Help (SHCU/SHFCU) Responsibilities Retail Operations: Maintains operational integrity throughout the branches assigned to the region; initiates and directs activities to generate servicing of members and development of new business by monitoring results, providing leadership, and coaching Branch Managers and/or branch team members. Ensures each assigned region’s branches adhere to operational policies, procedures, and controls, guaranteeing the safety and security of employees, members, and credit union assets. Recommends action plans to improve operational procedures and mitigate controllable losses. Encourages and supports organizational initiatives, activities, and programs that promote growth and create a positive impact on the communities and members being serviced. Ensures customer service excellence by encouraging staff to meet high levels of service, confidence, trust, empathy, and by promoting members as the primary focus. Acts as a communication liaison between SHCU/SHFCU Retail Management and the retail branches within the assigned region. Ensures all branches comply with Self-Help’s processes and procedures, federal laws, regulations set by the National Credit Union Administration, and other regulatory agencies. Develops teamwork by building consensus, fostering mutual respect, and trust; promotes professional growth through development activities, counsel, and motivation; ensures staff receive ongoing training, including compliance and security procedures. Reviews and recommends objectives, policies, and procedures for the assigned branches. Takes ownership of, drives, and is accountable for branch performance within the region, including operational and growth metrics such as transaction volume, teller errors, loan volume, net deposit, and member and new account growth. Plans and recommends changes in staff structure, scheduling staff rotation/assignments, and manages staff overtime. Manages performance appraisals, improvement plans, promotions, and terminations. Leads strategic planning for the region: recommends goals; develops, communicates, and implements branch-level production goals, budgets, and operating plans to align with achieving them. Supports managers in efforts to drive Self-Help’s economic inclusion initiatives via supplier diversity and the use of businesses owned by women and people of color in third‑party contracting and vendor management. Evaluates branch effectiveness through analysis of branch activity reports; manages write‑offs to a minimum; monitors branch performance against goals. Organizes external new business development programs within the regional market; assists with the development of branch business plans to meet deposit and loan production goals. Researches mission‑aligned opportunities; maps current network to identify insights that enable further expansion. Nurtures and develops community relations to enhance SHCU/SHFCU reputation. Identifies partnership and collaboration opportunities with public, private, and nonprofit entities that advance the mission and impact. Represents Self-Help at civic and community events to enhance image and develop business. Educates the larger community about Self-Help’s mission and capabilities to bring about community development transformation. Leads business development planning sessions with Branch Managers, providing guidance and direction. Creates short‑ and long‑term development strategies in conjunction with the team and senior management to optimize branch capacity, identify new opportunities for improvement and growth, and ensure achievement of business goals. Maintains prescribed security and internal controls to protect the region’s branches against criminal and fraudulent operations and unnecessary risk or exposure. Performs other duties as may be deemed necessary. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent related experience. 10 years of banking experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a management capacity. Preference for working in organizations prioritizing teamwork and collaboration. Knowledge of financial services policies, procedures, regulatory, and compliance requirements. In‑depth knowledge of banking products and services. Strong leadership and problem‑solving skills. Excellent people‑management and customer‑service skills; ability to coach and motivate staff to achieve goals. Strong analytical skills necessary to evaluate credit requests, prepare budgets, and determine market trends. Knowledge of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills. Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Willingness and ability to travel frequently to various branch locations. Willingness to work beyond normal hours as needed.
