About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to join their senior leadership team and spearhead the strategic design and execution of comprehensive fundraising efforts. The CAO will be responsible for leading a best-in-class fundraising plan that aligns with the organization's mission, establishes performance metrics, and ensures financial sustainability. This role involves cultivating relationships with donors, foundations, and government partners, as well as collaborating with program leaders to align fundraising with organizational priorities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record in securing major gifts, experienced in managing high-performing teams, and passionate about the mission of the organization. Candidates for the CAO position at the company should have a minimum of 15 years' fundraising experience, with a strong background in securing transformative major gifts and leading a team. Proficiency in fundraising software is required, and experience with complex nonprofit organizations is preferred. The successful candidate will be a natural relationship-builder, a strategic thinker, and a creative problem-solver with a goal-oriented, can-do attitude. Strong communication skills and a commitment to advancing equity and access within the community are essential. A Bachelor's degree is required, and a CFRE certification is a plus. The role demands a leader who can inspire and mentor their team, and who is dedicated to the values of trust, collaboration, and high performance.
