Opening: Entry-Level Accountant
Location: Anchorage, AK
Pay: $28-32+ DOE
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting while gaining valuable hands-on experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis.
The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for numbers, a solid understanding of basic accounting principles, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. This role offers exposure to a variety of accounting functions and the opportunity to grow within a stable and professional organization.
Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Review transactions for accuracy and compliance
• Create and maintain spreadsheets used for financial tracking and reporting
• Utilize Pivot Tables, formulas, and data analysis tools within Microsoft Excel
• Assist with audit preparation and financial documentation requests
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather and verify financial information
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience creating and utilizing Pivot Tables
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Previous accounting internship, bookkeeping, or accounting experience
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems
• Experience performing account reconciliations
• Familiarity with financial statement preparation and reporting
