Make a lasting impact on students’ lives by supporting their social and emotional growth in a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity offers full-time hours and a fulfilling role as a School Social Worker for the 2026-2027 academic year in the Scranton area.

The position runs from ASAP through June 2027, with a Monday through Friday schedule, providing between 35-37.5 hours weekly. Three social workers are needed to serve distinct caseloads: one will focus on K-4 elementary students, another on K-2 students, and a third will support K-12 students across emotional support and autistic support programs.

Qualifications:

• Current Social Worker license or certification eligible for schools (state-specific credentials required)
• Experience or strong interest in school-based social work
• Familiarity supporting K-12 students, including those with emotional or autistic support needs
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, families, and external agencies
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver counseling and intervention services to students with diverse social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Develop and implement individualized plans (IEPs, 504s) in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
• Conduct assessments, crisis intervention, and case management
• Provide education and support to staff and families to foster an inclusive school climate
• Maintain accurate records and participate in team meetings
• Adapt approaches to meet the needs of each student, contributing to a positive learning experience
