Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical - Neuro

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to neurology and neurosurgical patients in a specialized neuro unit. Deliver patient-centered interventions, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and implement appropriate care plans.
• Monitor neurological status and utilize telemetry and oximetry equipment.
• Document patient progress accurately in electronic health records using Epic.
• Administer medications and interventions per physician orders and protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and update care strategies.
• Educate patients and families on neurological conditions and post-discharge care.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with at least 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Proficient in Epic charting and documentation practices.
• Certified in NIHSS and BLS.
• Experience working in neuro or neurosurgical units preferred.
• Ability to handle a patient ratio of 1:6 with strong clinical judgment.
• Successful completion of orientation modules on-site.
