Marketing Assistant

This position requires the candidate to be a resident of Santa Barbara County. No relocation assistance will be provided. Schedule: Full-Time, In-Office (Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM) Compensation: $40,000–$45,000 annually, DOE About the Role Village Properties is seeking a full-time Marketing Assistant to join our in-house marketing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in marketing while gaining hands‑on experience across a variety of creative, organizational, and production-focused projects. Reporting directly to the Marketing Director , the Marketing Assistant will support the creation and execution of marketing materials for both the brokerage and our agents. This role is heavily focused on marketing production, organization, and providing day-to-day support to ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on brand. We are looking for someone who is organized, motivated, eager to learn, and excited to contribute to a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate is someone who takes direction well, communicates effectively, receives feedback positively, and is willing to jump in wherever needed to support department goals. This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same. Responsibilities may range from creating marketing collateral and assisting agents with promotional materials to updating tracking documents, compiling information, and supporting special projects across the department. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Santa Barbara. Key Responsibilities Marketing Production Create and update marketing materials including flyers, postcards, brochures, print advertisements, email campaigns, listing materials, and other marketing collateral using Canva and other design tools Assist agents with creating marketing assets for property listings, open houses, agent promotions, and other real estate marketing initiatives Support the production and coordination of marketing materials for Village Properties and our agents while maintaining brand consistency Assist with occasional social media content creation and digital marketing initiatives Help prepare and organize creative assets, images, and marketing resources for ongoing projects Department Support Assist the Marketing Director with ongoing marketing initiatives, campaigns, and special projects Maintain and update marketing spreadsheets, tracking documents, and internal systems Compile data, organize project information, and assist with internal reporting and tracking Take notes during meetings and assist with follow‑up tasks and project coordination Help manage timelines and ensure marketing requests are organized and moving forward Provide general support to the marketing department and assist wherever needed, including occasional office errands, coffee, or lunch pickups for team meetings and projects Agent & Team Communication Communicate professionally with agents and internal team members regarding marketing requests, deadlines, and project updates Assist with monitoring marketing inquiries and ensuring requests are properly tracked and organized Collaborate closely with the Marketing Director and team members to complete projects accurately and efficiently Provide dependable support to agents and the broader company through responsive and organized communication Preferred Qualifications We are looking for the right person and attitude more than a specific number of years of experience.
