Description:
This is a position in a Progressive Care Unit.
The unit has 44 beds and a staff of 95.
The staffing grid includes 2 charge nurses, 11 registered nurses, 4 certified nursing assistants, and 1 health unit coordinator for both day and night shifts.
Patient ratios are typically 4:1 and can stretch to 5:1.
Equipment used includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, chest tubes, tracheostomies, and patient lifts.
The electronic medical record system in use is Cerner.
Typical procedures performed include neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, TLSO brace application, and blood transfusions.
Candidates should be team players and patient-focused.
Floating to stepdown units and med-surg units may be required.
Scrub color is navy blue.
Availability for every other weekend is required.
This position is for contractor replacement purposes.
