Global Product Manager - Underground

Global Product Manager – UndergroundReporting to the Global Product Line Manager, this position requires a blend of both strategic and technical skills for managing products and solutions in accordance with the overall portfolio and company strategy. The role includes product management of MV underground switchgear including load break switches and fault interrupters. The GPM will be the product and solution owner and will be responsible ensuring profitable growth and market share capture by working collaboratively with all departments. This role will rely heavily on product management skills such as business development, commercial savvy, and a good balance of tactical and strategic know how.As a Global Product Manager you will:Manage as primary owner specific products and solutions within the global product portfolioDevelop and drive the portfolio strategy and product & solution roadmap for managed offeringsLead idea generation through VoC (voice of the customer), market trends analysis, and identification and profiling of competitors' products and activities, including close collaboration with the G&W GIST (Global Strategic Insights Team) on market research.Participate in relevant standards events, industry associations, and trade show events to provide appropriate guidance and influence for G&W and the industry at largeAssist in developing market segment intelligence and GTM plans for new products and solutions, including SAM, TAM, CAGRMonitor industry trends that will impact product requirements and manage strategic plans for managed offerings accordinglySupport the review, analysis, and management of relevant impacts on the product portfolio's P&L and the portfolio's strategic directionDrive set-up of new products including establishing pricing, alignment with SCM on optimal inventory levels, and directing Technical Product Managers in the development of sales collateral and training materialsManage pricing strategy for managed portfolio products and solutionsParticipate and drive projects through New Product Development (NPD) and Change Management (CMR) processesCollaborate with NPD teams in the product development process for new productsManage product and solution roadmaps in line with business and portfolio strategic plans and drive internal communications on the sameLead projects to add necessary product and solution enhancements to managed offerings, with a goal of maintaining profitable growthCreate and communicate on value propositions, sales channel identification, and identification of buyer and user personasSupport sales and marketing in lead identification and planning to close sales or support channel gapsCollaborate with sales & marketing on the creation of marketing and sales plans to grow sales of existing and new products and solutionsLead the Sales Enablement necessary to ready sales teams for selling new products and solutions, and enhancements to existing offeringsLead the development and management of pricing guidelines for new products and solutionsCollaborate with the marketing communications team to develop sales tools, training, and materials for existing and new productsSupport monitoring and tracking of market success for new products launched and drive actions to enhance new product successSupport Base BusinessEngage in product and solutions presentations as needed, for internal teams and external customersLead market driven forecast development for product lines by working with sales teams and sales enablement, evaluating market trends, and factoring in future product roadmap considerationsProvide direction to TPMs (Technical Product Managers) and support sales teams working customer applications and opportunitiesCollaborate on development of and participate in large bid strategy and approvalsSupport cross-functional teams in managing engineering, supply chain, quality, and operations issuesLead monitoring win/loss data and support pricing adjustments to maintain competitivenessLead full product lifecycle management for managed offeringsWe are looking for someone with:A Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering5+ years' experience in engineering, sales, marketing, product management or related role within the power industryStrong technical and commercial aptitude and experience managing engineered to order productsAble to handle multiple tasks efficiently and effectively, includingDemonstrated capabilities to positively influence both internal and external customersExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oralCollaborative, results-oriented team player, with ability to manage conflict effectively and with a win-win spirit and attitudeAbility to collaborate with and driving a global cross functional teamProven skills in implementing effective and appropriate direct customer communications without supervisionIdeally you will have:Experience with medium voltage electric power productsExperience working within teams spread globally around the worldThe Physical Demands / Working Conditions of the role are:General office environment, computer useLight lifting (occasional, 25 lbs or less)Travel 30%-40% including monthly domestic and occasional international travelWhat we offer you:Typical pay is $114,512 – 151,668 annually.Please note the pay information shown above is a general guideline.
