Objective of the position: As a Vessel Field Engineer, you will be part of the SURF Operations team within the ABSER business line. Onboard a vessel, you will learn the methods and operations of offshore installation. You will play a role as an interface and coordinator between the installation teams on board and the project teams, relaying the Offshore Construction Manager.

This role is part of a career development path: after a 3-year period, you will have the opportunity to join the offshore installation methods teams to follow a complete scope from the writing of procedures to the installation campaign.

How can you contribute?

• Provide technical assistance for all construction activities during the preparation and offshore operations phases
• Assist the Supervisor or assistant supervisor barge in resolving any technical problems during the preparation and offshore operations phases
• Follow the instructions of the project installation manuals, establish the appropriate checklists and report any discrepancies
• Ensure reporting to accompany the smooth running of the site
• Follow the status of project equipment and consumables with the help of the assistant supervisor or store managers, QA/QC supervisor, and welding engineer
• Work in liaison with subcontractors to ensure that the preparation and execution of work is in accordance with the manuals
• Ensure the proper completion of installations in liaison with the client teams, project team, and other disciplines

What are we looking for?

Education: Degree in general engineering, mechanical or civil engineering

Experience/knowledge: 0.5-2 years in an offshore project context

Languages: French C1 - English C1

Technical knowledge: Naval vocabulary

What else should you know? Offshore rotations will be on a 2 months/1 month model in an international context.
