Truck Technician

Join our team as a Truck Technician, where you will be at the forefront of commercial truck modification. Our company is an industry leader in creating specialized trucks, such as auto transport trucks and work trucks for municipal services. As we expand our product line, we are seeking skilled technicians to support our growing operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform extensive assembly modification work based on printed picture work instructions.
• Start on basic lines, installing a second steering wheel and performing basic modifications.
• Use hand and impact tools throughout the day.
• Conduct electrical routing using plug & play techniques as outlined in work instructions.
• Work on various assembly stages, including decontenting, cab modifications, and final assembly.
• Participate in specific build processes for stall and VPD bays, focusing on wire routing, steering conversions, and transmission adjustments.

Essential Skills

• Heavy truck experience.
• Ability to pull and swap transmissions.
• Knowledge of suspension changes.
• Proficiency with hand and impact tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience rebuilding transmissions.
• Wiring experience, particularly with plug and play systems.
• Ideally have a full or partial tool set including air impacts, battery impacts, socket wrenches, and drills.

Work Environment

Our technicians work primarily on the first shift from 5:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, with occasional overtime on Saturdays. The facility is very clean and organized, though not climate controlled. You'll have the chance to work independently in some areas and collaborate with a team in others, providing a balanced work experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
