Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist

Position in Salinas, California. The role involves assessing patients, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to improve communication and swallowing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess referred patients to determine speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that align with physician recommendations and patient/family goals.
• Administer speech-language pathology interventions using evidence-based practices.
• Complete thorough and timely documentation related to patient evaluations, treatments, and progress.
• Monitor patient outcomes and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare staff regarding treatment plans and therapeutic techniques.
• Assist patients in achieving the highest possible level of independence and functional communication.
• Maintain efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care.
• Assist with orientation and mentoring of new employees and volunteers as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, rehabilitation professionals, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Adhere to all hospital safety policies, regulatory standards, and professional practice guidelines.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care for the patient population served.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Current California Speech-Language Pathology License required, or a Temporary California Speech-Language Pathology License with a commitment to obtain permanent California licensure within one year of hire
• Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association required
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
