Registered Nurse - Trauma ER - PART-TIME

Position Summary Provides care to acutely and critically ill patients in a highly technical and ongoing monitoring environment. These patients are facing life-threatening problems with varying needs, which require extensive medication protocols and therapies. Position Type PART-TIME OPENING Education/Experience Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and meets the requirements as specified in the Nursing Administration Policies. One (1) year of recent emergency room or intensive care experience. Licensing/Certification Requirements Current License by the Nevada State Board of Nursing to Practice as a Registered Nurse, and meets the requirements as specified in the Nursing Administration Policies. Current BLS and ACLS Certification at hire; PALS or ENPC at hire. ABLS and TNCC certification within twelve (12) months of hire. Additional Position Requirements Preferences will be given to applicants who document the following: Minimum of three (3) years of recent Emergency or ICU RN experience Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in Trauma unit Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements Knowledge: Nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and coordination of patient care); anatomy and physiology; standards of care; disease processes; medical equipment; patient care plan development; patient evaluation and assessment techniques; infection control policies and practices; pharmacology and medication administration; Nurse Practice Act; department and hospital safety policies; age-specific patient care practices; handling, storage and disposal of hazardous materials; emergency response policies and procedures. Skills: Implementing nursing process; caring for high-risk or critically ill patients; invasive nursing procedures; developing and implementing education programs; organizing, prioritizing and delegating work; computer use; communication with diverse populations; building effective working relationships; safe equipment use.
