Behavior Support SpecialistPosition at Clarvida - PennsylvaniaLocation: Reading, PA Employment Type: Full-time Salary: Starting at $22 Bachelor's: $22 to $28 Master's: $28 to $32About the Role The Behavior Support Specialist is responsible for conducting functional behavioral assessments and developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior support plans for individuals experiencing behavioral challenges. This role focuses on utilizing positive behavioral strategies, collaborating with participants and their support teams, and ensuring effective training and compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards.ResponsibilitiesCompletes functional assessments and develops strategies to support individuals experiencing behavioral difficultiesDevelops, implements, and reviews Behavior Support Plans and Restrictive Procedures Plans using positive practicesEnsures training is provided to staff, family members, and participants on behavior support plan implementationCollects, monitors, and evaluates behavioral data to assess progress and outcomesObserves individuals in various settings to inform behavior support plan developmentCollaborates with participants, families, and team members to create effective, non-restrictive support strategiesConducts comprehensive functional assessments for behaviors including aggression, self-injury, and law-offending behaviorDevelops and maintains individualized behavior support plans based on assessment findingsConducts training sessions for staff, families, and participants on plan implementationImplements behavior support strategies and interventions as outlined in plansMonitors and revises plans as necessary to ensure effectivenessCollaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop positive interventions for specific behavioral concernsCompletes documentation including data collection, progress reports, and annual planning materials in compliance with regulationsAssists with internal and external audits and follows up on audit requirementsPerforms other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsMaster's Degree in Human Services or a closely related field; or Bachelor's Degree under supervision of a Master's Level ClinicianValid Pennsylvania Driver's License with a good driving recordStrong computer skills including MS Office Suite and ability to learn systems such as HCSIS, PROMISe, and Avatar EHRExperience in behavioral assessment, behavior planning, and data collectionAbility to work collaboratively with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teamsPreferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or EducationBoard Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certificationPennsylvania Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS) preferredCompensation & Benefits Full-time Employees:Paid vacation (increases with tenure)Separate sick leave that rolls over annually*Up to 10 paid holidays*Medical, dental, and vision insurance optionsDailyPay – access your earnings without waiting for payday*Training, development, and CEUs for licensureAll Employees:401(k)Free licensure supervisionEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Pet insuranceDiscounts on shopping, travel, entertainment & more through Perks @ClarvidaMileage reimbursement*Cell phone stipend*(*Benefits may vary by location) Work Location Community-based settings including office environments, residential homes, and facility-based locations throughout Carbon, Monroe and Pikes County.
