Training Specialist $26.00–$30.00 per hour Estimated Annual Earnings: $62,000–$78,000+ Health Insurance Vacation Company-Paid Travel When Required Home Base: Pasadena, CA – Corporate Store & Training Center Mike’s Red Tacos is looking for an experienced restaurant training professional who is passionate about developing leaders, building strong restaurant teams, and helping new locations succeed. As a Training Specialist , you’ll be a key member of the Mike’s Red Tacos Training Team, responsible for preparing and certifying Franchisees, General Managers, Assistant Managers, and other restaurant leaders before they take on leadership responsibilities within their restaurants. Based at our Pasadena Corporate Store & Training Center , you’ll deliver structured, hands‑on training that builds operational knowledge, leadership capability, confidence, and a strong understanding of the standards that define Mike’s Red Tacos. You’ll also partner closely with Operations, NRO Leaders, Franchise Partners, and restaurant leadership teams to support new restaurant openings and ensure leaders are prepared to successfully operate their restaurants. This role combines restaurant operations, leadership development, hands‑on training, coaching, and facilitation . Your work helps create the leaders who will carry Mike’s Red Tacos standards into restaurants across the country. With more than 200 locations under development, Mike’s Red Tacos is bringing the Love of Red to communities across the country. Our Pasadena Corporate Store & Training Center serves as the operational and training model for the brand. It is where Franchisees and restaurant leaders learn the systems, standards, leadership expectations, and restaurant operations they’ll need to successfully lead their teams. Our Training Team works alongside Operations and the New Restaurant Opening Team to ensure every restaurant has knowledgeable, confident, and prepared leaders from day one. What We Offer $26.00–$30.00 per hour Estimated annual earnings of $62,000–$78,000+ Overtime opportunities based on training schedules and business needs Company-paid airfare, hotel accommodations, and travel expenses when traveling for company business Home base at our Pasadena Corporate Store & Training Center Leadership development and career growth opportunities Work directly with Operations, NRO Leaders, Franchise Partners, and restaurant leadership teams Opportunity to help develop the future leaders of one of the fastest-growing brands in the industry What You’ll Do Lead comprehensive training programs for Franchisees, General Managers, Assistant Managers, and restaurant leadership teams Prepare and certify restaurant leaders in Mike’s Red Tacos operations, systems, food execution, leadership expectations, and brand standards Facilitate structured classroom, hands‑on, and restaurant-based training Coach leaders through every station and key operational responsibility within a Mike’s Red Tacos restaurant Evaluate trainee performance and determine readiness for certification and advancement through the training program Provide clear, actionable feedback to help trainees improve their operational and leadership capabilities Track training progress, completion, performance, and certification outcomes Ensure consistency in training delivery and adherence to Mike’s Red Tacos standards Serve as a subject matter expert on restaurant operations, systems, training programs, and leadership expectations Maintain, organize, and help improve training materials, job aids, assessments, and program standards Partner with Operations, NRO Leaders, and Franchise Partners to ensure alignment between training and restaurant execution Support pre‑opening and post‑opening training activities as needed Provide ongoing coaching and performance support to new and existing restaurant leadership teams Identify knowledge or performance gaps and provide additional coaching and training when needed Support restaurant operations and training activities at the Pasadena Corporate Store & Training Center Help ensure the Corporate Store & Training Center consistently represents the operational standards expected across the Mike’s Red Tacos system What We’re Looking For Strong restaurant operations experience Experience training and developing restaurant leaders Strong understanding of restaurant systems, food execution, and operational standards Ability to coach and train across multiple restaurant stations and departments Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills Strong coaching and feedback capabilities Ability to evaluate performance objectively and make certification/readiness decisions Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple trainees, training plans, and priorities simultaneously Professional presence in both classroom and restaurant environments Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced restaurant and training environment Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross‑functionally with Operations, NRO, Franchise Partners, and restaurant leadership Professional, dependable, and team‑oriented mindset Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus, but not required Ability and willingness to travel when needed Schedule & Travel Expected schedule of approximately 40–50 hours per week , depending on training schedules and business needs Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Primary work location is the Pasadena Corporate Store & Training Center Occasional travel throughout the United States to support New Restaurant Openings, leadership training, or additional restaurant training needs Company-paid airfare, hotel accommodations, and approved travel expenses when traveling for company business Schedule may vary depending on training classes, restaurant operations, New Restaurant Openings, and business needs Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to work in a fast‑paced restaurant and kitchen environment Ability to bend, reach, and work in tight spaces Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to perform and demonstrate restaurant station responsibilities as part of hands‑on training Why This Role Matters Every successful Mike’s Red Tacos restaurant starts with strong leadership.
