Work Schedule: Onsite every Wednesday and Thursday from Day 1

Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential for full-time employment

Position Overview:

\n

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst 5 to support business operations, IT projects, system enhancements, and ongoing work requests. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business process analysis, requirements elicitation, process modeling, Agile user story management, and stakeholder engagement.

\n

The Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, project teams, and IT teams to support project delivery and continuous process improvement. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication, facilitation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, project teams, and IT teams.
\n
• Conduct business process reviews, requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation.
\n
• Develop and maintain business process models, workflows, and process documentation.
\n
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings and workshops to identify business needs and define project requirements.
\n
• Develop, document, refine, and manage Agile user stories and acceptance criteria.
\n
• Collaborate with development teams, product owners, and project managers to ensure requirements are understood and implemented.
\n
• Work directly with senior management to determine strategies, develop roadmaps, establish priorities, build consensus, and resolve conflicting stakeholder perspectives.
\n
• Support the development and enhancement of IT solutions intended for public use.
\n
• Manage ongoing project activities, work requests, system enhancements, and business analysis assignments.
\n
• Help stakeholders understand and comply with organizational policies, procedures, standards, and practices.
\n
• Identify business constraints, risks, dependencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
\n
• Support Statements of Work (SOWs), project scopes, work agreements, and contractual documentation as needed.
\n
• Maintain clear, concise, and accurate documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
\n
• Adapt to changing business priorities and contribute to team operations.
\n

Required Qualifications

\n

\n
• Minimum of 7 years of experience conducting business process reviews, requirements elicitation, requirements documentation, and process modeling.
\n
• Minimum of 5 years of experience developing and/or managing user stories on Agile development projects.
\n
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with senior management to facilitate strategic discussions, develop roadmaps, build consensus, and resolve opposing positions.
\n
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working on projects involving the development or implementation of IT solutions for public use.
\n
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
\n
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and stakeholder-management abilities.
\n
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and adapt to changing priorities.
\n
• Strong relationship-building skills and a customer-service-oriented approach.
\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

\n
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting the development of or compliance with Statements of Work (SOWs), contracts, or other work agreements.
\n
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with programs governed by state or federal regulations.
\n
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
\n
• Previous experience supporting government or public-sector IT projects.
\n

Work Arrangement and Interview Process

\n

\n
• Location: Lansing, MI.
\n
• Hybrid work schedule with mandatory on-site attendance every Wednesday and Thursday, starting on Day 1.
\n
• Remote-only candidates will not be considered.
\n
• Local candidates are strongly preferred.
\n
• Non-local candidates must be willing to relocate at their own expense without delaying the start and comply with the required onsite schedule.
\n
• The first-round interview will be conducted virtually.
\n
• The second-round interview will be conducted in person. Candidates must be available for the in-person interview.
\n

Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

\n

The initial contract duration is six months, with the possibility of conversion to a full-time position within that period. At the time of full-time hire, the selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship from the employer.
