Staff Accountant Northern Suburbs of Chicago, IL (Onsite – 5 Days per Week) Our client is a growing, privately held consumer products company with an international footprint and a portfolio of premium branded products sold in more than 100 countries worldwide. As the business continues to expand, they are seeking a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team and play a key role in supporting financial operations and reporting. Important Requirement *Candidates must have experience with inventory accounting and/or consumer packaged goods (CPG) accounting. Applicants without this background will not be considered. Responsibilities Support month-end and year-end close activities Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances Process and maintain high volumes of vendor invoices and accounting records Assist with inventory accounting, inventory reconciliations, and related reporting Review employee expense reports for compliance with company policies Support external audit requests and documentation preparation Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred 2-5 years of accounting experience Required: Experience within a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) company Required: Strong inventory accounting experience Experience in wholesale, retail, manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-driven environments Understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting Experience with account reconciliations and monthly close processes ERP experience required (NetSuite strongly preferred) Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial analysis Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 Annual discretionary bonus opportunity Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability coverage, and 401(k) If you have a background in consumer products and inventory accounting and are looking to join a growing organization with a collaborative culture, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
