As a Panel Welder III, you will perform advanced panel welding and fabrication operations across all panel welding work centers. You will work with multiple materials and gauge thicknesses, including aluminum, verify weldment alignment and dimensional accuracy, identify and repair nonconforming welds, and complete specialized welding and testing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

· Independently perform all welding and fabrication responsibilities.

· Verify positioning and alignment of weldments, including checking corner-to-corner measurements to confirm assemblies are square.

· Inspect welds and identify nonconforming conditions, including undercut, overlap, base-metal gouging, and overgrinding of base material.

· Determine and perform proper repairs on nonconforming welds.

· Perform welding operations across all panel welding work-center lines, including roof panels, wall panels, doors, and miscellaneous components.

· Select and apply appropriate welding techniques for different material types and gauge thicknesses.

· Produce quality welds on aluminum components.

· Weld fuel fill/spill box assemblies and perform required leak testing to verify completed work.

· Verify completed weldments meet applicable print, dimensional, alignment, and quality requirements.

· Safely operate crane equipment after completing required training.

· Maintain awareness of forklift and crane operations and follow designated aisles, work zones, and storage areas.

· Safely operate power and hand tools, measuring devices, and work-center equipment, and maintain proper tool storage in accordance with 5S requirements.

· Use required welding PPE, including welding helmets, gloves, aprons, and other work-center-specific protective equipment.

· Work safely around forklifts, cranes, production aisles, work zones, and material storage areas.

· Understand and follow established quality standards and workmanship requirements.

· Education: High School Diploma/GED required

· Certifications: D1.3 14-gauge and D1.3 11-guage welding certifications within 30 days of starting position

· Experience: 5+ years' experience as a MIG welder and one year of continuous experience in a manufacturing environment required

· Reading Ability: Must be able to read and understand English

Skills:

· Ability to follow verbal and written work instructions, technical specifications, and established procedures.

· Advanced proficiency in panel welding and fabrication across all panel welding work centers.

· Advanced ability to read and interpret fabrication prints, welding symbols, dimensions, and weld requirements.

· Proficiency in welding multiple material types and gauge thicknesses, including galvanized steel, mild steel, and aluminum.

· Ability to independently verify completed weldments for dimensional accuracy, positioning, alignment, squareness, weld completeness, and compliance with fabrication prints and quality requirements.

· Advanced ability to inspect welds and identify nonconforming conditions, including undercut, overlap, base-metal gouging, and overgrinding.

· Ability to troubleshoot welding, fit-up, alignment, and quality issues and independently perform appropriate repairs and rework.

· Proficiency in grinding, cleaning, and finishing welded assemblies to print and workmanship requirements.

· Ability to perform specialized welding and leak-testing operations.

· Ability to safely operate welding equipment, power and hand tools, fixtures, measuring devices, and other work-center equipment, including proper tool storage.

· Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions within established procedures.

· Understanding of welding PPE, shop safety, and 5S requirements.

· Ability to safely work around forklifts, cranes, and other material-handling equipment.

· Ability to safely operate crane equipment after completing required training.

· Ability to lift and handle parts weighing up to 40 pounds and work with team members to handle larger parts.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, lift and/or move up to 40 lbs., bend, use hands, and fingers for 8 + hours. (Overtime may be required)
