Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and 1+ years Pharmacy Technician experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A temporary Pharmacy Technician is needed to provide critical support at a behavioral health facility in the Phoenix, AZ area. This role is essential to maintaining smooth pharmacy operations while covering a leave of absence, with potential for extension based on staffing needs. The position offers a consistent weekday schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with no weekend shifts required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Refill and restock Omnicell cabinets efficiently
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and perform regular rotation to prevent medication expiration
• Remove expired, recalled, or damaged medications in a timely manner
• Conduct scheduled cycle counts and inventory audits in the pharmacy
• Fill medication cassettes, bins, and patient-specific medication requests accurately
• Deliver and distribute medications to nursing units as needed
• Process medication returns and credits according to policy
• Ensure medication packaging and labeling are precise before distribution
• Support monitoring and handling of high-alert medications
• Assist with medication room inspections and prepare monthly audit documentation
• Monitor emergency medication kits and antidote inventory
• Support patient own medication processing following facility policies
• Complete 2-3 days of on-site training with pharmacist support available at all times

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician license with CPTB certification
• Hospital pharmacy experience, specifically with Omnicell automation systems and medication filling machines
• Familiarity with medication inventory management, outdates, and general technician duties
• Experience in behavioral health pharmacy settings is a plus
• Ability to work locally within the Phoenix area (local candidates only)
• Experience with Cerner order entry system is helpful but not required
