Since 1865, St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge has provided food, shelter, clothing, and healthcare to those most in need across the 12-parish Baton Rouge area. Through its Dining Room, shelters, thrift stores, pharmacy, and network of over 300 Vincentian volunteers across 25 conferences, the organization distributes more than $1 million in direct assistance each year and serves as one of the region's most trusted resources for the poor and vulnerable. About the Role

Reporting to the President/CEO, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team and serves as a strategic partner to the President/CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leaders of St. Vincent de Paul of Baton Rouge. The CFO provides executive-level financial leadership that advances the organization's Catholic mission by ensuring resources are managed with integrity, transparency, and a deep commitment to service. This role helps shape organizational direction by translating financial data into strategy, strengthening long-term sustainability, and supporting decisions that expand mission impact across the community.

The CFO is responsible for sound fiscal stewardship, accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and forward-looking planning across the organization and its related entities. In addition to overseeing core finance functions, the CFO strengthens systems, supports cross-functional collaboration, and helps position the organization for long-term stability, operational effectiveness, and mission-driven growth.

What We're Looking For

SVDP Baton Rouge is open to candidates across a range of experience levels who bring the right skill set, mindset, and trajectory. Candidates being considered for this search include those with Chief Financial Officer, Controller, Director of Accounting/Finance, or VP of Finance experience, provided they bring strong nonprofit financial leadership and are ready for executive-level responsibility.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA strongly preferred
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including significant nonprofit financial management, budget development, audit preparation, and grant compliance
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards, including fund accounting
• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and financial modeling tools
• Experience with payroll systems and benefit-related financial administration
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to varied audiences
• Comfort and enthusiasm for change management; a creative, entrepreneurial, and open-minded approach to problem solving
• Tech-savvy, with genuine interest in modernizing tools and processes
• A supportive, hands-on leadership style suited to a small, close-knit team
