Job Description

The Supervisor oversees and coordinates operational teams (“janitorial” and/or “grounds labor”) in accordance with Fora standards, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient services that meet contractual and quality standards. They act as a direct liaison between management, team leaders, and direct personnel. Supervisors perform direct labor functions, manage human and material resources, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a safe, inclusive, and performance-oriented work environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the work of janitorial staff. 
• Inspect assigned areas regularly to ensure standards are being met.
• Assign tasks and ensure timely completion of cleaning duties.
• Train and coach staff on cleaning procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
• Monitor supply inventory and request necessary materials.
• Respond to customer complaints or special cleaning requests.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to appropriate personnel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse populations.
• Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish and English, to serve diverse communities.
• Empathy, kindness, and emotional/cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to design and deliver practical training.
• Flexible schedule.
• Adaptability to work in diverse environments.
• Teamwork and collaboration with other departments.
• Proficiency in basic computer tools (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Workspace, Teams, Zoom, Canva, email, among other platforms).

Requirements 

• Minimum education: High school diploma.
• Preferred (but not required):  Technical certification, diploma, or studies related to facilities management, maintenance, occupational safety, or related fields.
• Minimum experience : Three (3) years in supervisory, project management, leadership role or equivalent.
• Own vehicle and valid driver's license if the position requires travel.
• Availability and flexibility for work schedules, including weekends or outside of regular hours when necessary.
• Submission of a valid health certificate.
• Background check if required by the client.
• Physical fitness and tolerance for manual labor

Physical Requirements

• Ability to travel to different areas of the island. 
• Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.

Work Environment

• Office building, interaction with building customers and the public.
