Director of Construction

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a portfolio of data center construction projects within a defined regional market.
• Oversee project teams, including project managers and superintendents, ensuring alignment with company standards and client expectations.
• Drive execution of projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
• Provide hands-on management support for individual projects as needed.
• Manage overall project and subcontractor/vendor/consultant budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
• Monitor and maintain project schedules, coordinating subcontractors, consultants, and vendors for timely completion.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards across all job sites.
• Conduct quality control reviews and ensure all deficiencies are addressed promptly.
• Build and maintain strong executive-level client relationships, resolving escalated concerns and generating repeat business opportunities.
• Develop and mentor project management and field teams, identifying future leaders and supporting talent development initiatives.
• Standardize processes, implement lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement in project controls and operational excellence.
• Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions and ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
• Preside over regular subcontractor meetings to coordinate work and resolve conflicts.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs and punch lists, to support project progress and completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 15+ years of construction experience, with a strong background in Division 2-10 trades (from concrete to finished trades).
• Minimum of 3 years of data center construction experience required.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple large-scale projects and leading diverse teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project.
• Experience with Yardi, Procore, and Prolog preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
• Proven ability to drive financial performance, operational excellence, and talent development.
