Job Description

This role focuses on assembling mechanical and electrical components for complex systems used in data center applications. You will work from engineering drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions to build, modify, and rework frames, sub-assemblies, cooling systems, and enclosures. The position requires consistent use of hand and power tools, accurate documentation of work performed, and close collaboration with engineering and project leads to ensure high-quality, reliable products.

Responsibilities

• Assemble frames, sub-assemblies, cooling systems, and enclosure components using hand and power tools.
• Install mechanical hardware, busbars, brackets, cable trays, and structural components according to engineering drawings and build instructions.
• Align mechanical parts and ensure proper fit and function within assemblies.
• Follow electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to perform assembly tasks accurately.
• Route, cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and harnesses to specified standards.
• Install electrical components and ensure correct placement and secure mounting.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions with a high level of accuracy.
• Conduct in-process quality inspections to ensure assemblies meet all quality and production standards.
• Assemble, modify, rework, and reassemble production components using drawings, pick tickets, process documentation, and verbal instructions.
• Perform repetitive and skilled assembly operations while maintaining consistency and attention to detail.
• Conduct basic quality checks and identify defects or non-conformances, escalating issues as needed.
• Document results of work performed and communicate issues or findings to engineering or project leads.
• Use a tablet to locate and follow job orders and production documentation.
• Utilize hand and power tools, including power screwdrivers, wire strippers, crimpers, and related equipment.
• Lift and move components and assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks.
• Support troubleshooting efforts on mechanical and electrical assemblies as required.

Work Environment

This position operates in a production and assembly environment that supports data center-related systems. Standard shifts include a 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. schedule and a 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. schedule, with current operations running 10-hour days and a strong expectation of overtime availability. Work may take place at two nearby facilities, one located in Simpsonville and another in Fountain Inn off Southchase Boulevard. You will regularly use hand and power tools, tablets for accessing job orders, and work around mechanical, electrical, and electronic components. The environment is hands-on, active, and production-focused, with clear quality standards and process documentation guiding daily tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fountain Inn, SC.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Fountain Inn,SC.
