Interim Vice President of Student Services Recruitment Timeline July 23 – Closing date July 27–29 – Committee reviews applications July 30 – Committee meets to select applicants August 6–7 – Interviews August 10–11 – Recommendation for hire August 13 – Board approval Position Details Location: Yuba College, Yuba City, CA The Vice President of Student Services is an equity‑minded, dynamic, collaborative leader responsible for shaping a learning environment that champions student success and equity. This role develops and oversees innovative student services and programs to meet the needs of a diverse student body, fostering inclusion and engagement from entry through graduation. The position reports directly to the President of Yuba College and collaborates with the Vice President of Instruction and other campus leaders to continuously improve student engagement, retention, and success. Basic Functions The Vice President oversees Student Services at the main campus and two centers, ensuring availability and accessibility of services across all locations, including evenings and summer sessions. Admissions, Records, Outreach, and Registration Counseling, Matriculation, and Articulation Student Life Programs Financial Aid and Scholarships Category Student Services Programs (e.g., DSP & EOP, CalWORKs, TRiO, Veteran’s Center) Student Development Career Services Center, Student Employment, and College Service/Internships Health Services Outreach and Transfer Services Student Equity and Achievement Plan (SEAP) Essential Leadership Characteristics Deep commitment to student access and success Results‑oriented and data‑informed leadership Team building and collaboration across faculty and staff Establishing a sense of urgency to improve outcomes Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders Alignment of resources and expenditures for sustained results Community engagement and partnership building Required Qualifications Master’s degree Three years of supervisory leadership experience related to the essential duties and assignment Foreign transcript evaluation and translation (U.S. evaluation required) Desirable Qualifications 3–5 years of public higher education administrative experience in Student Services Direct managerial responsibility for interconnected areas: Admissions, Outreach, Counseling, DSPS, EOPS/Care, CalWORKs, TRiO, Financial Aid, Student Conduct, Student Success & Retention, and Transfer & Career Programs Demonstrated cultural competence and commitment to equity‑focused practices Earned doctorate from an accredited institution (desirable) Knowledge of California Education Code and Title V Experience with HSI colleges and participatory governance Strong management and operations skills, and effective communication in writing and orally Physical Demands Executive office environment Constant interruptions Contact with dissatisfied or abusive individuals Physical Abilities Operate a computer keyboard Sitting for extended periods of time Exchange information in person and on the telephone Exchange information and make presentations Salary Range $155,464 – $189,447 annually (Step 1‑9). Placement based on related experience and educational qualifications. Telework Program Some classifications may allow remote or hybrid work.
