Line Cook

The Purple Pig Oakbrook is seeking line cooks that want to gain knowledge and experience in a fast-paced, creative atmosphere! Under new leadership, we are searching for hard-working individuals with a great attitude and who are responsible for the daily preparation of all food items that are served. Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Skills

-Set up station according to restaurant guidelines

-Prepare all food items for the daily menu in a sanitary and timely manner

-Follow recipes, portion controls, and food presentation specifications as set by the Executive

Chef

-Restock items as needed throughout shift

-Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills

-Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all

storage areas

-Ability to work well with the team with a positive and flexible attitude

-May perform other duties, as assigned, such as assisting in putting orders away, etc

-Must be able to follow and complete prep lists 

-Must have experience maintaining food cost goals by showing awareness of station par levels, food rotation, proper labeling, and waste management.

Education and/or Experience:

-Culinary degree preferred, but not required

-Previous prep and/or line cook experience in a high-volume, systems-based, scratch kitchen restaurant setting

-Must have open availability including AM, late nights, weekends, & holidays

-Must have ANSI-accredited Servsafe Food Handler Certification upon hiring

-Live fire, pasta, and/or pizza cooking experience is a plus but not required
