Position Overview

Are you a culinary professional who loves the smell of fresh dough and the rush of a busy dinner service? Stella’s Pizza & Pub is seeking a skilled, passionate, and energetic Full-Time Cook & Pizza Maker to join our team.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in spinning perfect pies, prepping high-quality dishes, and occasionally interacting with our awesome regulars. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in every plate (and box) that leaves the kitchen, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

• Culinary Excellence: Prepare and cook a variety of menu items—with a heavy focus on pizza making—according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Quality Control: Ensure all food items are cooked to the appropriate temperature and maintain absolute consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.
• Kitchen Operations: Monitor inventory levels, manage prep stations, and proactively communicate any shortages or ordering needs to the Kitchen Manager.
• Front-of-House Synergy: Take customer orders, process payments accurately, and provide friendly, welcoming customer service when needed.
• Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a squeaky-clean, safe workspace by strictly following food safety, allergen, and sanitation guidelines. Ensure all equipment is properly used and maintained.
• Teamwork & Closing: Collaborate closely with kitchen and floor staff to ensure smooth operations. Assist with nightly closing procedures, including cleaning tables, floors, and kitchen lines to keep Stella’s shining.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Proven experience as a line cook or pizza maker in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
• Technical Skill: Strong understanding of various cooking methods, fresh ingredients, and standard kitchen equipment (especially commercial pizza ovens).
• Pace & Grit: Ability to work efficiently under pressure, multitask like a pro, and maintain a positive, professional demeanor during peak rush hours.
• Certifications: Food Handler’s Certification (or equivalent) is required, or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Communication: Excellent verbal communication and a team-first mindset.
• Availability: Flexibility to work a full 40-hour week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school training or apprenticeships are a definite plus.
