Staff Accountant
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Compensation: $60,000-$80,000 (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Full-Time


About the Role
An organization in the Grand Rapids area is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation and enjoys working with financial reporting, reconciliations, and year-end accounting activities.


Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries.
  
  
• Maintain the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
  
  
• Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations.
  
  
• Assist with month-end and year-end close.
  
  
• Prepare financial statements and supporting workpapers.
  
  
• Support year-end tax preparation and compliance activities.
  
  
• Research accounting and tax-related issues as needed.
  
  
• Assist with annual audits and external reporting requirements.
  
  
• Analyze financial data and recommend process improvements.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  
  
• Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
  
  
• Knowledge of GAAP.
  
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  
  
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
