Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant is responsible for a variety of accounting functions including approving payables, preparing, and posting journal entries, completing monthly variance reporting, and performing month-end closing processes including balance sheet reconciliations. This position also requires effective communication with a remote General Manager and Office Manager on a routine basis. This is a full-time position and reports to the Controller.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reviewing and approving accounts payable transactions
• Own and support the month-end close process including preparing and posting adjusting entries
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations
• Understand and apply capitalization policies when reviewing payables
• Analytically review monthly financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP
• Support day-to-day accounting functions at various park locations
• Participate in other projects and activities as assigned

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
• 2+ year of experience or industry-specific education required
• Working knowledge of GAAP
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel

Pay Range: $55,000 - $60,000 per year
