Loan Officer Associate

Job Overview The Loan Officer Associate assists Loan Officers while developing skills and knowledge to become a Loan Officer in the future. The role includes completing online and classroom educational sessions and receiving operational and hands‑on training while supporting the Loan Officer and Division Managers. Responsibilities Learning Development: Participate in formal training programs covering various aspects of lending, including types of loans, credit assessment, and the loan approval process. Train with a manager on mortgage rate sheets to accurately price and lock loans. Review daily, weekly, and monthly reports to gain a comprehensive understanding of the mortgage pipeline. Continuous Education and Licensure: Successfully complete mortgage licensing tests and maintain state licensing as required. Keep current on RESPA regulations through continuing education courses. Support and Coordination: Update loan applications with missing data, maintain notes within the Loan Origination System, and occasionally set up files. Business Development and Customer Relations: Participate in builder and realtor events to develop relationships, contribute to local marketing campaigns with Division Managers and Loan Officers, and ensure borrowers can reach out through phone, email, or chat. Primary Contact Role: Serve as the main point of contact between borrowers and their Loan Officers, schedule and conduct meetings, and address follow‑up items. Collaboration and Flexibility: Assist processors and closers in procuring loan documents, engage internal associates via various communication channels, and maintain a flexible schedule that may include weekends and evenings. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (BA or BS preferred). Mortgage or banking experience preferred. Experience articulating product or service benefits. Passion for exceeding customer expectations. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
