Heart Failure ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
The Heart Failure ICU Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the comprehensive care of critically ill patients, particularly those requiring hemodynamic monitoring for left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) and heart transplant procedures. This role demands a high level of clinical expertise in managing complex cardiac conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care for heart failure ICU patients.
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring using Swan-Ganz catheters.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Utilize advanced medical devices, including LVADs, intra-aortic balloons (IABP), and Impella devices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Document patient information and care activities accurately and timely.
- Educate patients and their families on heart failure management and device operation.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license with an active state board certification.
- Experience with Swan-Ganz catheter for hemodynamic monitoring.
- Experience with LVAD, IABP, and Impella devices is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competence in utilizing electronic medical records (EMR).
