Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,290 - $3,900 (competitive locum tenens pay)
• Location: San Diego, CA 92123
• Setting: Outpatient Clinic (No procedures) - outpatient GI clinic, gastroenterology nurse practitioner position
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Shifts per Week: 5
• Shift Duration: 8 hours
• Patient Census: Estimated 18 patients per day
• Start Date: August 3, 2026
• Assignment Duration: 3-6 months (preference for 6 months for continuity)
• EMR: EPIC (Health Connect - Kaiser Permanente's version) - EPIC experience preferred
• Call: No call responsibilities

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of gastroenterology (GI) clinical experience required
• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) - NP certification required
• Current and active California NP license required (California nurse practitioner jobs)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Vaccinations preferred; medical or religious waivers considered
• EPIC EMR experience preferred (Health Connect / EPIC)
• Credentialing timeframe: Estimated 90 days from application submission

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct initial GI consultations and routine follow-up visits as a Gastroenterology NP / GI NP
• Review and communicate pathology and diagnostic results with patients
• Medication management, prescription refills, and inbox follow-ups
• Provide general gastroenterology consultations and patient education
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR and follow clinic workflows
