Our client, a leading 4PL is hiring a Vice President of Strategy & Corporate Development to serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and CFO. This high-visibility, hands-on individual contributor role is ideal for a sharp, self-directed professional who excels at solving complex problems across deal execution, financial planning, and strategic projects.

The VP will own the company's M&A function end-to-end — from sourcing and screening acquisition candidates to leading diligence and supporting post-close integration — while simultaneously supporting the CFO's FP&A agenda and driving execution of key operational and business development initiatives across the company. Because this is an individual contributor role at hire, the ideal candidate must be a strong practitioner: capable of building models, writing memos, running processes, and delivering polished materials independently.

Key responsibilities

\n

\n

Acquisitions — Sourcing, Execution & Integration

\n

\n

▸ Build and maintain a proprietary M&A pipeline

\n

Proactively identify, research, and cultivate acquisition targets aligned with strategic growth priorities

\n

▸ Manage banker and intermediary relationships

\n

Serve as the primary internal contact for M&A advisors, business brokers, and sell-side intermediaries

\n

▸ Lead financial analysis and valuation work

\n

Build LBO, DCF, and accretion/dilution models from scratch; develop transaction-level business cases for CEO and CFO review

\n

▸ Coordinate and execute due diligence processes

\n

Manage cross-functional diligence across finance, operations, legal, HR, and technology; synthesize findings into investment committee materials

\n

▸ Support deal structuring and negotiation

\n

Work alongside legal counsel and the CFO on LOI terms, purchase agreement negotiations, and closing mechanics

\n

▸ Support post-close integration

\n

Develop integration playbooks and track key milestones in partnership with operational leadership

\n

\n

FP&A & Financial Modeling

\n

\n

▸ Support development and maintenance of the long-range financial plan

\n

Partner with the CFO to build and update a rolling 3–5 year integrated financial model

\n

▸ Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses

\n

Model the financial impact of strategic decisions including M&A, capital investment, pricing changes, and market scenarios

\n

▸ Produce executive and board-level financial presentations

\n

Build clear, polished materials in PowerPoint and Excel for CEO, CFO, and board reporting

\n

▸ Track and analyze KPIs

\n

Monitor financial and operational performance metrics; surface trends, variances, and actionable insights

\n

▸ Benchmark competitive and market performance

\n

Research public company comps, transaction multiples, and market dynamics to inform internal planning assumptions

\n

\n

Strategic Initiatives

\n

\n

▸ Project-manage priority business development and operational initiatives

\n

Drive execution of cross-functional projects on behalf of the CEO and CFO, from scoping through delivery

\n

▸ Support the annual strategic planning process

\n

Coordinate planning activities, synthesize inputs from functional leaders, and produce the strategic plan narrative

\n

▸ Conduct market and competitive research

\n

Develop well-reasoned points of view on end-market trends, customer dynamics, and competitive positioning

\n

▸ Prepare CEO and CFO for key external meetings

\n

Build pre-meeting briefings, one-pagers, and presentation materials for customer, partner, and investor interactions

\n

▸ Evaluate and advance new business development opportunities

\n

Analyze new service lines, customer segments, or geographic expansion concepts and develop actionable recommendations

\n

\n

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

\n

\n

\n
• 4–8 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, corporate strategy, or FP&A at a high-growth company
\n
• Demonstrated M&A experience — including financial modeling, due diligence coordination, and deal execution
\n
• Prior exposure to transportation and logistics
\n
• Experience supporting or working alongside C-suite executives in a fast-paced operating environment
\n
• Proven ability to manage complex projects independently from initiation through completion
\n
