Registered Nurse (RN) - ER

Charge Nurse – Emergency Department

Schedule: Nights; alternating 48 hours one week / 36 hours the next. Every other weekend.

Requirements:

• Previous charge experience: Required
• 3 years of experience preferred (first-time travelers accepted)
• Patient ratio experience: 4
• Charting system experience: Epic (required)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Oversee nursing staff and manage patient care in a fast-paced emergency department.
• Ensure effective communication between interdisciplinary teams, including PT, Respiratory, and Social Services.
• Manage and monitor patients with ventilatory needs, including BiPAP/CPAP.
• Administer and oversee IV/vasopressor medication management and blood product administration.
• Conduct triage and provide trauma care as necessary.
• Perform procedural sedation monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 24 hours
• License: Pending NM/Compact license accepted but must be obtained prior to start
• Background checks and fingerprinting required for travel contracts
• Locals not accepted within 50-mile radius
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as travelers
• Vaccination status (COVID/Flu) details unknown
