Position Overview

This is not a typical operations role.

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring FuelUp delivers exceptional service to our customers every day. You will work directly with enterprise & SMB customers, oversee field operations, solve problems in real time, and build the systems that power our growth.

This is a demanding, hands-on leadership position that requires urgency, accountability, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to support customers and the team. After-hours and weekend support will be required to ensure operational excellence and customer success.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Success

• Serve as the primary operational point of contact for FuelUp's customers
• Coordinate schedules, service expectations, and performance reporting
• Quickly resolve issues and maintain strong customer relationships
• Ensure an exceptional customer experience across all fueling and maintenance services

Operations Management

• Optimize fueling and maintenance routes for efficiency and profitability
• Manage inventory and coordinate timely resupply with vendors
• Implement and improve SOPs across fueling and maintenance operations
• Ensure timely completion of all customer service events
• Monitor service quality, response times, and operational KPIs
• Support expansion into new cities and regions
• Build scalable systems and operational playbooks

Team Leadership

• Lead and support drivers, technicians, and field personnel
• Drive accountability and performance throughout the organization
• Recruit, train, and develop team members as the company grows
• Foster a culture of safety, urgency, and customer obsession

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure adherence to DOT, EPA, fire marshal, and local regulations
• Maintain permits, certifications, insurance, and operational records
• Enforce fueling, transportation, and safety standards across all operations

RequirementsMust Have

• 2–5+ years of experience in operations, logistics, fleet management, transportation, or field services
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead teams and hold people accountable
• Willingness to provide after-hours operational support when needed
• Ability to obtain a CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements (required)

Preferred

• Current CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
• Experience supporting enterprise customers
• Startup or high-growth company experience
• Experience managing distributed field teams
• Knowledge of fleet maintenance or mobile fueling operations

Bonus Points

• Experience launching new operational markets
• Familiarity with AI-powered operational systems
• Background in transportation, logistics, or fleet services
